Grazie alla sua grana 360, consente di eliminare piccole imperfezioni, uniformare le superfici e attenuare i segni delle precedenti lavorazioni. È particolarmente indicato per la carteggiatura di fondi, stucchi e superfici verniciate, preparando il materiale alle successive fasi di levigatura ultrafine e lucidatura.

La serie 7940 siaair Velvet di SIA Abrasives è dotata di un supporto flessibile in materiale espanso ammortizzante, che favorisce una distribuzione uniforme della pressione durante la carteggiatura. Questa struttura permette al disco di adattarsi alle superfici piane, curve e sagomate, contribuendo a ridurre il rischio di segni di levigatura eccessivamente profondi.
